Online ADOS-2 Training with Dr. Courtney Burnette (Jul' 23)

Description:

The ADOS-2 focuses on the application of assessment methods as it is a standardized and semi-structured assessment of communication, social interaction, play, or the imaginative use of materials for people suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder.

The course consists of a workshop that provide trainees with an introduction to the ADOS-2, including its development and role within the diagnostic process. Trainees will be exposed to its modular framework, and will receive instruction on how to administer each task on each module, and considerations for scoring. Videos of administrations will be used to show trainees the modules and tasks in action, and then discuss the resulting behaviours.

This training is suitable for professionals with a background in autism and formal testing, including psychologists.

This is an introductory program for all mental health professionals.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain Use of the ADOS-2 in Diagnostic Assessment of ASD

  • Explain the administration of modules 3 and 4

  • Revise Module 3/4 codes

  • Apply the coding explained on the watched videos

  • Discuss coding results and review administration of modules 3 and 4

  • Explain the administration of modules 1 and 2

  • Discuss the administration of modules 1 and 2

  • Demonstrate ADOS-2 modules 1 and 2 administration with videos as an example

  • Apply the coding explained on the watched videos

  • Explain Psychometrics & appropriate use of the ADOS-2

  • Describe clinical Diagnosis of ASD in Toddlers

  • Explain the administration and coding of the Toddler module

  • Demonstrate ADOS-2 Toddler module administration with videos as an example

  • Revise scoring from Module T video

  • Apply the coding explained on the watched videos

  • Explain psychometrics and appropriate use of Module T

  • Discuss administration, Codes, and Diagnostic Algorithms

  • Discuss doubts about the contents learned

  • Revise scoring from Module 3 or 4 video. Complete algorithm

  • Revise scoring from Module 1 or 2

About the Presenter:

Courtney Burnette, Ph.D., an international expert in the diagnosis of children with autism spectrum disorders and the early identification of young children at risk for this diagnosis, has been named the director of the Munroe-Meyer Institute’s integrated Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders (iCASD). Dr. Burnette currently is the director of the Clinical Evaluation Services Unit at the Center for Development and Disability at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
